To record occasional musing loosely based on my angling (mainly fly fishing) exploits. This will mostly feature my home water, the River Witham, a springfed limestone stream near Grantham

No fishing today!
Well it was a beautiful if very cold day today, but no chance of fishing as the overnight temperature had been 13 or 14 below, leaving much of the river frozen over. Was great to get out with the dogs and enjoy the scenery though.
What a lovely day out! The river surely has the look of the close season, but the sun shines bright and the frost crystals on the weeds are truly charming. A winter's fairy tale.
That frost is just magical! I don't get it too much at my altitude. I've been told the air is too dry, not enough humidity. Thanks for bringing it to me!
